Holiday Turkey Brunswick Stew

1 Tbl cooking oil

6 cups water

1 cup ketchup

1 cup BBQ sauce

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 Tbl Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp hot sauce

1.5 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 lg. Vidalia or sweet onion, chopped

4-5 cups chopped and pulled turkey

2 28 oz. cans of diced tomatoes

2 small pkgs. of frozen sweet yellow corn

1 small pkg. of frozen  peas

Cook the onion in oil in a large pot for about 5 minutes over medium heat. Then add the turkey, tomatoes, water, ketchup, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil. Then reduce to a simmer for about two hours, stirring occasionally. Last, add the corn and peas for another 30 minutes.

Note: Recommended hot sauce is Frank’s Red Hot, but you can use any good hot sauce (e.g., Texas Pete, Trappey’s Bull, or Louisiana Hot Sauce). Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce is also recommended, but again, this is subject to your sauce preference.
